An Academy for Liars

by Alexis Henderson · 2024

When Lennon Carter’s life unravels, a cryptic phone call offers a way out: an entrance exam for Drayton College, a hidden academy of magic deep in Savannah’s moss‑draped shadows. Chosen for her rare gift of Persuasion— the power to bend wills and, in rare moments, matter—Lennon steps onto a campus where ancient stone walls whisper dark histories and brilliant classmates push the limits of their abilities. Under the watchful eye of the charismatic yet intimidating adviser Dante, she dives into rigorous training, feeling the intoxicating pull of her newfound power even as it exacts a heavy toll on her body and mind. As her control sharpens, Lennon uncovers the unsettling truth behind Drayton’s legacy and the violent past that haunts her mentor. The ultimate lesson looms: can she wield absolute power without surrendering to corruption? In this haunting dark‑academia tale, the most dangerous lessons are learned outside the classroom, and the price of mastery may be far higher than she ever imagined.
