Nightcurse

by Hinds, Emma · 2026

Seventeen‑year‑old Emrys Swift is a revenant—an undead librarian cursed to live forever in the shadowy halls of the NeverEnd Library, where he guards forbidden witch‑lore. When a new revenant arrives and priceless magical artifacts begin to vanish, the fragile peace of his eternal refuge is shattered. To stop the theft, Emrys is forced to join forces with his mortal enemy, the charismatic shapeshifter Aubrey Vale. Their uneasy alliance thrusts them into the frozen realm of the night‑kin, where they must interrogate restless ghosts, evade mermaid drownings, and outrun the relentless Night Hunt. As they untangle the mystery of Emrys’s death and Aubrey’s hidden past, the line between hatred and desire blurs. In this gothic dark‑academia fantasy, a haunting mystery intertwines with an enemies‑to‑lovers romance, asking whether two cursed souls can forge a future together before the darkness consumes them all.
