Helen of Nowhere

Helen of Nowhere follows a disgraced university professor, known only as Man, who after losing his job and his wife, tours a countryside house with a young realtor. The house once belonged to Helen, a reclusive farmer whose presence haunts every room. Through the realtor’s stories about Helen’s self‑sufficient, almost mystical way of living, Man is offered a chance to abandon his academic life and buy a simple, land‑based existence. As evening falls, the price of this new life proves both literal and existential, forcing Man to confront what he must surrender for true happiness. The novel blends philosophical inquiry, satirical critique of male entitlement, and fable‑like storytelling, asking readers to consider identity, love, and the cost of a back‑to‑nature dream.
