When a treacherous betrayal shatters the noble house of Hié, Yoshiko—daughter of the daimyō—finds herself fleeing the only home she has ever known. Inherited from an ancient dragon spirit, Kiyomé, her power burns hotter with each step, threatening to unleash a mythic beast that could raze the world. Hunted by a ruthless council and plagued by mysterious disappearances, Yoshiko must learn to master the searing fire within before it consumes her loved ones. Enter Gora, a wandering jack‑of‑all‑trades with a shadowed past, who offers his aid in exchange for a chance to hide from his own demons. Together they race across a realm where magic is fading into legend, uncovering long‑buried secrets that could either restore the dying mystic arts or seal their extinction. As fear spreads through the people of Hié, Yoshiko faces a harrowing choice: wield her cursed gift as a weapon of vengeance, or forge it into a beacon of hope for a world on the brink of collapse.
