Scorched Grace

by Margot Douaihy · 2023

When a series of arson attacks threatens Saint Sebastian’s School, the cloistered world of the Sisters of the Sublime Blood erupts into chaos. Sister Holiday—a chain‑smoking, heavily tattooed, queer nun with a sharp tongue and a haunted past—refuses to sit idle while officials fumble. She takes the investigation into her own hands, navigating the sweltering streets of New Orleans and the tangled loyalties of students, fellow sisters, and the wider community. As the fire‑filled mystery deepens, Holiday must confront the sins that have shaped her, discovering that faith and redemption are far messier than any confession. A gritty, twist‑laden debut that blends atmospheric suspense with a fiercely original protagonist.
