I Love You so Mochi

by Sarah Kuhn · 2019

Kimi Nakamura lives for bold fashion statements, turning everyday scraps into "Kimi Originals" that make her and her friends feel unstoppable. When a fierce argument with her mother threatens to upend her future, a surprising letter from estranged grandparents invites her to spend spring break in Kyoto. Seeking escape, Kimi dives into the city's bustling markets, art installations, and cherry‑blossom festivals, discovering a culture that feels both familiar and wildly new. There she meets Akira, an aspiring med student who moonlights as a charming mochi mascot, and together they explore love, family, and the delicate balance between tradition and self‑expression. "I Love You So Mocha" is a sweet, funny coming‑of‑age romance that wraps food, fashion, and heartfelt growth into a deliciously satisfying story.
