Murder On Bamboo Lane

by Naomi Hirahara · 2014

Rookie LAPD bike officer Ellie Rush dreams of moving from patrols to homicide, but her first encounter with a corpse shatters that ambition. The dead body belongs to a former college classmate, thrusting Ellie into a tangled investigation at the urging of her Aunt Cheryl—the department’s highest‑ranking Asian‑American officer. As Ellie navigates a web of nosy friends, an over‑involved ex‑boyfriend, a brooding detective and a family eager to protect its secrets, she discovers that the murder hides a deeper, more dangerous truth. The case forces her to confront personal loyalties and the dark corners of Los Angeles, proving that some killers will go to any length to keep their secrets buried.
