Son of the Storm

by Suyi Davies Okungbowa · 2021

In the bustling, secret‑laden city of Bassa, scholar Danso dreams of stories beyond the walls that confine his world. When a wounded warrior named Lilong arrives—bearing a forbidden, shape‑changing magic thought only to exist in myth—Danso is thrust into a web of conspiracy that unravels the empire’s hidden past. As he follows clues to the mysterious Nameless Islands, he discovers buried histories, violent conquests, and a power that could topple the ruling elite. "Son of the Storm" blends West‑African inspired world‑building with intrigue, ambition, and a quest to forge one’s own destiny amid a storm of forgotten magic.
