The Ghostwriter follows Olivia Taylor Dumont, a struggling ghostwriter who has spent her life hiding her identity as the daughter of Vincent Taylor, a once-famous horror author suspected of murdering his two siblings in 1975. Facing financial ruin, Olivia accepts a job to ghostwrite her estranged father's memoir. As she returns to Ojai to work with him, she discovers that Vincent, now suffering from Lewy body dementia, intends to reveal the truth about the long-buried family tragedy. Through dual timelines and the discovery of her late aunt Poppy's diary and films, Olivia must confront the secrets that shattered her family and reconcile with her own past.
