The Prodigal Wife

by Marcia Willett · 2009

Jolyon Chadwick has built a thriving career as a beloved TV gardening presenter, but the success of his public life masks a deep, lingering wound. Years ago his mother, Marie, abandoned the family, leaving him to be raised by his father Hal and step‑mother Fliss at the ancestral Keep, a sprawling home that has long been a sanctuary for the Chadwicks. When Marie, now widowed, reappears hoping for forgiveness, Jolyon is torn between the allure of her sudden presence and the bitterness of her past betrayal. As he introduces his new girlfriend, Henriette—herself still raw from her parents’ divorce—to the tangled dynamics of his extended family, old grudges surface and fragile hopes of reconciliation are tested. Against the backdrop of the Keep’s timeless walls, Willett weaves a tender, emotionally resonant tale of love, forgiveness, and the possibility of mending a family once thought irreparably broken.
