Brisingr

by Christopher Paolini · 2008

Months after uttering the ancient word “brisingr,” Eragon and his dragon Saphira narrowly survive the colossal battle on the Burning Plains. Yet their trials are far from over. Bound by a web of oaths—to his cousin Roran, to the Varden, and to the elves and dwarves—Eragon must choose between personal promises and the greater good. As the Empire’s forces close in from every side, the Rider faces tests of loyalty, sacrifice, and leadership, racing across the land to rescue loved ones, rally rebel forces, and confront the tyrant King Galbatorix.
