Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry

by Joya Goffney · 2021

Quinn is a chronic list‑maker—she catalogs every ugly‑cry, every secret fear, and every boy she’d dare to kiss. The pages of her journal keep her sane, until they disappear and an anonymous Instagram account posts one of her most private lists for the whole school to see. The blackmailer gives her an impossible ultimatum: face seven of her deepest fears or watch her entire life go viral. Desperate and terrified, Quinn reluctantly teams up with Carter Bennett, the last person known to have her journal and someone she can’t quite trust. Together they race against time, confronting the very things Quinn has always written down but never lived. Along the way, the high‑school romance that sparks between them is as fierce as the challenges they tackle, forcing Quinn to choose between hiding behind her lists and daring to live her truth. Fans of Jenny Han and Kristina Forest will love the witty, heartfelt rom‑com that blends juicy secrets, electric chemistry, and a powerful message about courage and honesty.
