Nora Goes Off Script

by Annabel Monaghan · 2022

Romance‑channel screenwriter Nora Hamilton lives by a love formula—until her husband walks out, leaving her with two kids and a shattered marriage. Turning heartbreak into opportunity, Nora pens a script about her own breakup that gets green‑lit for a Hollywood production, filmed on location at her charming 100‑year‑old Hudson Valley home. When the charismatic former "Sexiest Man Alive" Leo Vance is cast as her on‑screen ex, the line between fiction and reality blurs. After the crew packs up, Leo shows up on Nora’s porch with a half‑empty tequila bottle and a tempting offer: $1,000 a day to stay for a week. The money could give her breathing room, but the longing in his eyes pulls her into a real‑life rewrite. Over seven days—long enough to fall in love, short enough to break hearts—Nora discovers that the best stories aren’t scripted, they’re lived.
