History: A Mess

A PhD student researching a seventeenth-century diary believes she has discovered the first professional female artist in Britain. Her academic career and personal life begin to flourish based on this finding, until she realizes the discovery was a mistake caused by two pages stuck together. Rather than admitting the error, she attempts to hide the truth, leading to a psychological unraveling, paranoia, and a desperate struggle to maintain her intellectual integrity. The novel is a satirical and poignant exploration of academic ambition, the nature of research, and the fragility of truth.
