The Butcher of the Forest

by Premee Mohamed · 2024

When the tyrant’s own children disappear into the forbidden northern woods, the only person who ever survived its dark heart—Veris Thorn—is called back to retrieve them. The forest is a living nightmare of ancient monsters, treacherous enchantments and lingering ghosts from Veris’s previous trek, and she has just one day before the wood claims the children for its own. Racing against a merciless ruler and a relentless, malevolent magic, Veris must navigate deadly traps, false allies and the haunting memories of her last journey. In this twisted, fairy‑tale novella, horror and fantasy collide as a world‑weary heroine fights to save the innocent before a single misstep shatters everything she loves.
