The Red Knight

by Miles Cameron · 2012

In a world where civilization clings to islands of safety against the savage wilderness known simply as The Wild, mercenary knights are the only line of defense against the monstrous predators that stalk the untamed lands. Young, brash, and armed with noble birth, rigorous training, and a devil‑ish streak of luck, the Red Knight leads his hardened company of soldiers‑of‑fortune on a contract to protect a wealthy abbey and its alluring nuns from a terrifying wyvern. What begins as a lucrative job quickly spirals into a full‑blown war, forcing the Red Knight to confront brutal battles, treacherous politics, and the grim realities of a mercenary’s life. Miles Cameron delivers visceral, gritty combat and a richly imagined medieval setting that will captivate fans of Mark Lawrence, John Gwynne, and Brian McClellan.
