Welcome to Glorious Tuga

by Francesca Segal · 2024

London‑trained vet Charlotte Walker trades her grey city life for a year on the sun‑kissed, remote island of Tuga de Oro. Officially she’s there to study the endangered gold‑coin tortoises, but the island holds a deeper secret that may finally answer the mystery of her own past. As Charlotte navigates a quirky community that showers her with cake, jam and endless animal emergencies—from stubborn donkeys to a mischievous doctor she can’t resist—she discovers love, friendship, and a sense of belonging she never expected. Warm, witty and vividly rendered, this feel‑good escape blends romance, humor and a touch of Jane‑Austen charm, offering readers a joyous reminder that sometimes the greatest discoveries happen far from home.
