Camp Damascus

by Chuck Tingle · 2023

They'll scare you straight to hell. Welcome to Neverton, Montana: home to a God-fearing community with a heart of gold. Nestled high up in the mountains is Camp Damascus, the self-proclaimed 'most effective' gay conversion camp in the country. Here, a life free from sin awaits. But the secret behind that success is anything but holy. When devoted follower Rose Darling begins throwing up living insects and seeing visions of a pale, white-eyed woman, her carefully ordered world unravels. Reality distorts; the Kingdom of the Pines, the evangelical church that governs the town, seems to hold a dark and bloody history. Rose must embark on a terrifying journey to uncover the camp's brutal secrets and discover the cost of the 'salvation' it promises. This searing and earnest horror debut explores the demons the queer community faces in America, the price of keeping secrets, and the courage to burn it all down. Genres: Horror, Queer, LGBT, Fiction, Thriller, Adult. 256 pages.
