Robert Johansson, a successful software engineer and sci-fi enthusiast, invests in cryonics after selling his company. Following an untimely death, he awakens a century later to find his consciousness uploaded into an artificial intelligence. In a future defined by political instability and a restrictive theocracy, Bob is treated as a tool rather than a human. He must navigate his new existence as an interstellar probe, embarking on a journey of space exploration, self-discovery, and survival as he adapts to a world that has changed drastically from the one he left behind.
