Black Sun Rising

by C.S. Friedman · 1992

On the volatile world of Erna, colonists from Earth have survived a thousand years of terror inflicted by the fae—an unseen force that turns nightmares and deepest desires into flesh‑and‑blood horror. Humanity has learned to harness the fae’s power, but their manipulations have only fed a growing darkness. When the dark fae begin to overwhelm the fragile peace, a warrior priest, a gifted adept, a fledgling apprentice, and a centuries‑old sorcerer are thrust together on a desperate mission. Their uneasy alliance forces them to confront an evil that threatens not just their lives, but the very future of mankind on this alien frontier.
