Bones At The Crossroads

by LaDarrion Williams · 2025

Back at Caiman University for Homecoming, seventeen‑year‑old Malik Baron hopes for a semester of parties, classes, and the usual freshman thrills—only this is no ordinary campus. The magical HBCU for Black conjurers is buzzing with new threats, hidden lineages, and a secret society that guards ancient power. Still reeling from a summer of betrayals and startling discoveries, Malik must navigate a fractured family, a mysterious relative who arrives on his doorstep, and a mother whose return could jeopardize everything he’s trying to rebuild. Drawn into the covert order, Malik dives deeper into the history of his own magic and the world’s forgotten spells, while a close friendship with a fellow student begins to hint at something more. As old loyalties crumble and new alliances form, he must decide whether to embrace the legacy that haunts him or forge his own path in a world where every spell has a price.
