None Of This Is True

by Lisa Jewell · 2023

When popular true‑crime podcaster Alix Summer celebrates her 45th birthday at a local pub, she meets Josie Fair—a quiet woman who shares the same birthdate. Their chance encounter quickly turns into a professional curiosity when Josie, having followed Alix’s shows, offers herself as a new subject for the podcast. As Alix delves deeper, she discovers that Josie’s seemingly ordinary life is riddled with unsettling secrets and sudden, dramatic changes. The investigation pulls Josie into Alix’s world, even into her home, blurring the line between storyteller and story. By the time the truth surfaces, Josie vanishes as mysteriously as she arrived, leaving Alix—and the listeners—questioning how much of the narrative is real and how much is a carefully crafted illusion.
