When Suki is born, a countdown is etched into her skin—a relentless timer that will end when the last cherry blossom petal falls. To save her empire from the devouring Purge, she must ascend to the mythical Fifth Heaven and become a kitsune, a fate the gods have framed as a curse. Enter Ryuu, a lethal and enigmatic samurai who volunteers for the deadly trials to join the elite quartet of guardians sworn to protect the chosen one. Together they confront an ancient mountain teeming with powerful yokai, treacherous betrayals, and conspiracies that threaten to shatter the world’s balance. In this pulse‑pounding fantasy steeped in Japanese mythology, duty clashes with destiny in an unrelenting battle for survival.
