Geeta is a woman living in an Indian village who has been ostracized for five years following the mysterious disappearance of her husband. Although she is innocent, the village believes she murdered him. Geeta discovers that this reputation as a 'self-made' widow provides her with unexpected protection and social leverage. However, her life becomes complicated when other women in the village, seeking to escape their own abusive marriages, approach her for help in getting rid of their husbands. As she becomes an unwitting consultant for these women, Geeta must navigate the dangerous consequences of her reputation and the web of secrets they create together.
