Eric H. Cline
Eric H. Cline is Professor of Classics and Anthropology at The George Washington University, former Chair of the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, and Director of the Capitol Archaeological Institute. A National Geographic Explorer, Fulbright scholar, Getty scholar and NEH Public Scholar, he holds degrees in archaeology and ancient history from Dartmouth, Yale and the University of Pennsylvania, and an honorary doctorate from Muhlenberg College. Cline has led more than 30 excavation seasons across the Near East, co‑directs the Tel Kabri project, and has served on the Megiddo Expedition. He is a three‑time winner of the Biblical Archaeology Society’s Best Popular Book on Archaeology award, has received the Trachtenberg Prizes for Teaching Excellence and Faculty Scholarship, and his twenty books have been translated into nineteen languages.
