Chinua Achebe
Chinua Achebe (1930–2013) was a renowned Nigerian novelist, poet, and critic, best known for his seminal work 'Things Fall Apart' (1958). Born to Christian parents in the Igbo town of Ogidi, he was educated in mission schools and later worked for the Nigerian Broadcasting Service. His writing explores the intersection of traditional African life, colonial rule, and Westernization. A professor at Brown University, Achebe was a central figure in modern African literature, known for his defense of using English to articulate the African experience and his critical analysis of colonial perspectives in literature.
