C. S. Lewis

C. S. Lewis (1898‑1963) was a British writer, scholar, and Christian apologist. He taught literature at Oxford and Cambridge, wrote the beloved *Chronicles of Narnia* series, and produced a wide range of theological and literary criticism. Lewis’s fiction often weaves Christian themes with mythic storytelling; the Space Trilogy is a prime example, using interplanetary adventure to explore spiritual truths. His close friendship with J. R. R. Tolkien inspired the character of Ransom, and Tolkien contributed a foreword to a recent anniversary edition of the trilogy.
