V.S. Naipaul

V. S. Naipaul (1932–2018) was a Trinidadian-born British writer and essayist, widely considered one of the greatest novelists of the modern era. Born to a family of Indian descent, he moved to England in 1950 to attend Oxford. His prolific career included works such as 'A House for Mr. Biswas' and 'A Bend in the River'. He was awarded the Booker Prize in 1971 and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2001. His writing often focused on the Caribbean diaspora and the complexities of post-colonial societies, though his work frequently sparked academic debate regarding his perspectives on the developing world.
