Gillian Rose (20 September 1947 – 9 December 1995) was a British scholar who worked in philosophy and sociology. She was known for her criticism of neo‑Kantianism and post‑modernism and for a forceful defence of Hegel’s speculative thought. Rose held a professorship in social and political thought at Warwick University and was celebrated as one of the most original thinkers of her generation.
