Cesar Aira
César Aira was born in 1949 in Coronel Pringles, Argentina, and has resided in Buenos Aires since 1967. A prolific writer who has published over one hundred books, he is known for his idiosyncratic, digressive, and inventive narratives that often blend surrealism, philosophy, and absurdity. Aira has worked as a translator and teacher, held a Guggenheim fellowship in 1996, and is recognized as one of the most provocative novelists working in Spanish today.
