Antonio Di Benedetto

Antonio Di Benedetto (1922‑1986) was born in Mendoza, Argentina, into a middle‑class family. He abandoned legal studies in 1945 to become a journalist, joining the Mendoza newspaper *Los Andes* where he eventually edited the arts and letters section. Though he considered himself primarily a professional journalist, he wrote fiction in his spare time, producing works such as *Zama* that have become classics of Argentine literature.
