Thomas Barichella

Antoine de Saint‑Exupéry was born on June 29, 1900 in Lyon, France, into an aristocratic family. He served in the French Air Force and became a pilot, experiences that deeply influenced his writing. His early novels, such as *Courrier Sud* (1929) and *Vol de nuit* (1931), earned critical acclaim. During World War II, while in exile in the United States, he wrote *Le Petit Prince* (1943) and other works. He rejoined the Free French Forces and was shot down on July 31, 1944. Saint‑Exupéry is celebrated as both a writer and aviator, honored with the Legion of Honor, and his legacy continues through the Antoine de Saint‑Exupéry Youth Foundation.
